CISD to interview superintendent applicants

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – The Commerce Independent School District this week hopes to narrow its choices for its next superintendent.

The Commerce School Board has called two days of special meetings this week, which include closed door executive sessions to conduct applicant interviews. The first of the two meetings is scheduled for Tuesday evening, with the second to take place Thursday night.

In July, the Board approved the hiring of Superintendent Search firm Arrow Education Services, a team consisting of former superintendents who've assisted in 84 such searches state-wide in their 10 years as a firm.

The Board is seeking the replacement of Mike Roberts, who resigned after serving at the position for just over a year.
