CISD providing Summer Feeding Program

Commerce – The Commerce Independent School District has begun a program feeding children at the City Park. The Summer Feeding Program provides a healthy lunch to children under 18 each weekday during the summer. The district was required to begin such a program after reaching 60% or more of its students receiving free or reduced prices lunches during the regular school year.

The lunches are free to all children under 18 and the menu includes the same type of food served in CISD cafeterias. Over 100 students are currently being fed at the City Park every weekday between noon and 12:30.
