CISD superintendent interviews continue

By Bill Oliver

Commerce, TX –

The Commerce school board will resume interviews with superintendent candidates next week. So far, trustees have held three nights of interviews and behind closed door discussions.

Thursday night's 5 1/2 hour session lasted so long the custodians left the middle school before the board. A board member was given a quick lesson on how to set the middle school's alarm system.

Board President Debbie Aikin declined to say how many of the 29 applicants were interviewed this week and how many more will be seen next week, citing the continuing process of selecting a new superintendent.

CISD Trustees won't return to interviewing until after Memorial Day.
