Cities to address dilapidated structures

A task force to help guide the creation of a residential inspection ordinance for the City of Greenville meets this week.

The meeting Thursday comes on the heels of a recommendation from Assistant City Manager John Adel, who had recently expressed concern with nearly 50 buildings needing to be torn down in the city last year.

The City of Paris will also discuss dilapidated structures during a Thursday meeting. Officials wanted to address many questions that had arisen following the recent collapse of a vacant building on Bonham Street. There were no injuries from the incident.
