Citizens experiencing delay in new voter certificates

This is due to the fact that the redistricting plans for the Texas House of Representatives and the United States House of Representatives have yet to be pre-cleared.

Voting certificates expire at the end of the year, and Hunt County Elections Administrator Mina Cook says her office has been receiving several calls from residents wondering when they’ll get a new card.

She’s asking citizens to have patience, as the Secretary of State’s office has informed counties not to send out voter certificates until further notice.
