Greenville – It may be harder to find an eight liner machine in Greenville. The Greenville City Council Tuesday passed an ordinance that will not allow any new eight-liner arcades to locate in the City for the next 12 months. The ordinance will not affect those machines which are already in operation, provided they are operated legally. While the operation of commercial slot machines for gambling purposes is prohibited in Texas, eight-liners can be found at game rooms across the state. They are not necessarily illegal, depending on how they are played.
