City of Commerce to host Dixie League softball tournament

The Commerce Parks & Recreation Department is proud to announce that it is partnering with the Dixie Softball organization to host the 2013 Dixie Angels State Softball Tournament.

Commerce, the host team, will play in Game 5 against Pineland tomorrow at 2 pm. Other first round games include Cleveland versus Bullard, Lindale against Campbell, Palestine taking on Hopkins County AM, and Liberty facing off against Bonham.

Each first and second round game will happen tomorrow, with each consecutive round happening daily through July 18, if necessary. The champion will be crowned by Thursday, July 18.

The opening ceremony, including the first pitch by the City of Commerce Mayor, Dr. John Ballotti, is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Eddie Moore Sports Complex.

Admission for the tournament is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children.
