City of Commerce to renovate website

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – City of Commerce officials and residents have a newly designed website to look forward to in the coming months.

On Tuesday, Council approved a contract with Joe Shipman in the amount of $5,100. Shipman, of Luminous Productions, also serves as multimedia development coordinator at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

The agreement also includes two hours of site maintenance each month from Shipman, who has previously created/renovated websites for the Commerce Economic Development Corporation (http://www.commercetxedc.org/) and Commerce Chamber of Commerce (http://www.commerce-chamber.com/).

According to Director of Administrative Services Marc Clayton, the new site, http://www.commerce-tx.com/, will include minutes from city meetings, an online water bill pay system and more.
