COMMERCE - The City of Commerce could have a new finance director in place by next month after interviewing seven candidates last week.
Marc Clayton is currently serving as director of administrative services, a position he held solely before his appointment to city manager last year.
As part of the approved budget for the current year, the council has allowed for a salaried finance director. But before offering the position, the council plans to meet in a workshop tonight to discuss the employee salary structure. Clayton says the city may need to adjust some figures to assure they can fill the opening.
Tuesday's meeting begins at 5:15 p.m. from City Hall.
