Commerce – A Commerce business is eyeing a portion of vacant property in town. Buy Low Liquor, currently on Monroe Street, has applied for a conditional use permit of 1308 Live Oak at the corner of Live Oak and Washington.
The permit was discussed at Tuesday night's Planning and Zoning Committee meeting. Residents living in the vicinity of the proposed location were allowed to attend and share their thoughts. City Planner Janet Castleberry says public comment spoke against the permit, citing the compatibility of the business in comparison to the adjacent property.
