Commerce City Hall move underway

By Bill Oliver/Kevin Jefferies

Commerce, TX – Monday morning, employees at Commerce City Hall will be walking into new offices and unpacking boxes.

The temporary City Hall offices were closed early Friday afternoon to allow computers to be moved, according to Bob Mills, the Parks and Recreations Director who has also been the city's point person on the new City Hall and Police and Fire facility that's under construction.

Mills added the new phone system has already been checked and the present numbers will be transferred Friday night.

On Saturday, Mills said an 11 person moving crew will move boxes, books, and other materials "from one set of desks to another set of desks, so when people go to work Monday morning there will be boxes surrounding their (new) desks."
