Commerce – Fewer than ten applicants remain in the search for the next Commerce City Manager. What began as a pool of 36 candidates has now been condensed to eight. According to Interim City Manager Marc Clayton, the search is moving along at a good pace and he's very impressed with the qualifications of all candidates.

Search firm Strategic Government Resources is now in the process of administering behavioral and managerial tests to all eight individuals'. SGR Chief Executive Officer Ron Holifield will review the results with the Commerce City Council during the week of June 10. Following review, two to four candidates will be selected and brought in for face-to-face interviews. If all goes as planned, a new City Manager could be in place by late July or early August.
