Commerce Council to discuss tax rate, curfew

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – The Commerce City Council during its regular meeting Tuesday may discuss the city's tax rate, possibly amend its curfew ordinance, plus appoint members to a Charter Review Committee.

The council may also discuss a street improvement program. The item was originally scheduled to be discussed in workshop two weeks ago but a quorum was not met.

All regular council meetings, included Tuesday's, will now begin at 6 p.m., to take place at Commerce City Hall, 1119 Alamo St.

The city hopes to attract more citizens to the earlier time slot, plus allow employees a chance to get home sooner. This may also serve as an alternative to workshops, with topic items instead placed on the regular council agenda.
