The Commerce High School volleyball team won the area championship Friday night over Ft. Worth River Oaks-Castleberry.
It took the Tigers five games to win the match. Commerce lost the first game 25-22 then won 25-20. The Tigers lost game three 25-17 before winning game four 25-14 and winning game five 16-14.
With a season record of 35-6, Commerce plays in the regional semifinal Tuesday night against Lucas Lovejoy. The match is in Rockwall and starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday night's winner advances to the region
championships this weekend at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
