Commerce man faces death penalty

Commerce – Jury selection begins today in the case of Adam Ward, who faces capital murder charges in the shooting death of Commerce Code Enforcement Officer Michael Pee Wee Walker. The prosecution will be seeking the death penalty in the case.
Walker was killed in June of 2005 while on duty for the City of Commerce. According to a criminal complaint filed with the courts, Walker exchanged words with Ward before ward went into his house, retrieved a handgun, returned and shot Walker three times.
