Commerce Mayor to step down
Commerce – Commerce Mayor Sheryl Zelhart will not be seeking re-election in May. That announcement was made at Tuesday's City Council Meeting. Zelhart thanked council and community members for their support and allowing her the opportunity to serve the city of Commerce. Zelhart has served as the city's Mayor for the past six years.
In addition to the position of Mayor, Council Members 2 and 4 will be placed on the May ballot. Filing for those positions opens Monday and closes March 10. The city's elections will be held May 10.
