Commerce – Commerce Police will be observing the National Night Out tomorrow evening at the Commerce City Park. A&M-Commerce Police, the Hunt County Sheriff's Department, the Commerce Fire Department, and other community organizations will be joining the in the evening of fun, food, and entertainment aimed at introducing citizens to local emergency personnel and creating a safer community.
National Night Out is also designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and community partnerships, and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The Commerce observance of National Night Out runs from 6:30 to 9:30 tomorrow night in the Commerce City Park.
