Commerce PD makes arrest in 'solicitation of a minor' case

COMMERCE - According to a Facebook post, Commerce Police have arrested a man following a lengthy investigation for online solicitation of a minor.

The man was said to have been hiding out in Paris until recently. The suspect was reportedly stalking a college girl sometime Wednesday before he was approached by authorities, tried to escape, and then was arrested.

In an email earlier this month, Commerce Police Chief Kerry Crews informed KETR of the ongoing investigation, which at the time was more than two weeks old. It indicated the perpetrator is 26 years old and from Paris. He listed two victims in the case, one 13 and the other 14.

More details are expected upon the suspect’s arraignment.
