Commerce – A Commerce officer has been honored as a local hero. Commerce Assistant Police Chief Steve Harrison was presented one of two Law Enforcement Awards during an annual awards ceremony Saturday. Police Chief Kerry Crews nominated Harrison for the award, noting how Harrison rose through the ranks of the department and also serves as the city's Emergency Management Coordinator. Crews said Harrison was also able to recently obtain two major grants for the City of Commerce.
