Commerce School Board accepts Superintendent's resignation

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – The Commerce School Board has accepted the resignation of Superintendent Mike Roberts.

The resignation, along with an exit agreement, was conducted during a closed door executive session Monday night as part of a special meeting called by the District.

No comments were given as to why Roberts stepped down, nor has any information been released as to why he was placed on paid administrative leave last month. Robert's exit comes just after one year on the job.

The Board could begin its search for a new superintendent as early as next week, during their monthly board meeting, which may include discussion into hiring a search firm.
