Commerce School Board to begin search for new superintendent

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – The official search for a new superintendent for the Commerce Independent School District is about to begin.

The Commerce School Board is scheduled Monday to consider hiring a search firm to start the process of replacing Mike Roberts, who resigned last week.

During Monday's regular session, the Board is scheduled to hear a presentation from a superintendent search firm and then discuss and possibly take action on hiring the firm.

A closed door executive session is also included under the agenda, during which the Board is scheduled to discuss with the search firm the names of potential applicants for an interim and/or new superintendent and the possible employment of an interim superintendent.

Monday's meeting takes place at 7 p.m. Monday in the Commerce Middle School Library.
