Commerce Tigers kick-off playoffs tonight

Forney – The Commerce Tigers keep a 15 year playoff appearance streak alive tonight as they travel to Forney to face the Kaufman Lions in the Bi-District round of the playoffs. Commerce has had an extra week to rest as they ended their season with a 3-1 district record and a 6-3 overall record. Kaufman rolled through their district undefeated and were 8-1 overall for the season. Kaufman comes off a big win last week, beating Eustace 49-7 as they secured their District 12-3A crown.

Kaufman is a running machine with two backs that will likely see a lot of action tonight. On paper, the teams are close to evenly matched, but Kaufman played through a tougher district and came up with some big wins in the final minutes this season. It should be a good game and a good test for the balanced passing and rushing attack for the Commerce Tigers.

Kick-off is set for 7:30 in Forney tonight, with live coverage here on 88.9 beginning at 7.
