Greenville – There are new developments in the legal dispute between the City of Commerce and its mayor, as a demand for a jury trial has been filed.
The filing was made with the 196th District Court Monday. At last report, there had been no trial or hearing dates scheduled.
The suit against Quay Throgmorton and his wife Paige alleges the two failed to repay the City more than $50,000 in improvements made in 2005 to their property. The Throgmorton's contend that a 2006 payment in the amount of over $34,000 was all that their records indicate needed to be paid.
