Commerce – A suspect has been charged with stealing money from a Commerce woman. According to police, an 81-year-old Commerce woman let the person into her home for a drink of water, which resulted in the stealing of the woman's wallet and a pocketful of cash earlier this month.
Shawnda Monique Brown of Commerce has been arrested and charged with felony theft in connection with the incident. She was scheduled to appear for a Wednesday morning bail hearing, although records indicate she had already been released on $1,000 bond.
