By Brad Kellar

Commerce – A prison sentence has been handed down in connection with a Commerce burglary. Shawnda Monique Brown, of Commerce, pleaded guilty Thursday to stealing a woman's wallet and a pocketful of cash in June, 2008. The crime occurred on Lilly Drive, where an 81-year-old female resident said she had let a Brown into her home for a drink of water. After Brown left, the victim said she noticed items missing from her home. When questioned by Commerce PD, Brown presented the victim's money, wallet and driver's license.
