Commerce – A Commerce youth will be one of a handful of high school scholars from across the nation featured on the nationally televised reality show The Scholar premiering Monday.
Gerald Taylor found out about the ABC show while searching for college scholarship opportunities just a day before applications were due. With help from friends, he completed the extensive application and prepared an audition tape and sent them in. He never expected to make the final cut as he kept advancing through the interview process.
Taylor eventually did make it onto the show, however, to compete in academic areas with students all across the nation for a full scholarship to a school of their choice.
The Scholar premiers Monday on ABC at 9pm.
