Commerce – A mobile home fire in Commerce has claimed the life of a young girl. Authorities have identified the deceased as four-year-old Annette Reyes.
Firefighters were dispatched to USA Mobile Home Park along Washington Street at approximately 6:11 p.m. Monday where they were advised that someone may be trapped inside. According to a release from the City of Commerce, the structure was already 50 percent engulfed upon emergency arrival.
Reyes was located in the back bedroom of the home and transported to Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville where she was pronounced dead.
The release did not indicate how the fire may have started and no additional information was provided. Fire Chief Brian McNevin could not immediately be reached for comment.
