Commissioners consider agreement with neighbors

COOPER - The Delta and Hunt County Appraisal Districts are considering combining services.

Delta County Tax Assessor-Collector Dawn Stewart recently discussed the option with commissioners, indicating that combining smaller districts is likely to happen in the future.

The Hunt County District has 23 employees which will be helpful in assisting Delta County in mapping reviews. Thus far the savings will be $2,000 on the cost of sharing a server with Hunt County. There will still be two Board of Directors; Hunt as the main and Delta as the advisory.

The item was tabled until the next meeting on Monday, Dec. 12.
