Community invited to PJC groundbreaking, open house

By Scott Harvey

Paris – A groundbreaking ceremony is planned Thursday for Paris Junior College's new Science and Math Building.

The $11 million facility, located northwest of the Student Center on the main campus, will occupy 42,000 square feet on two levels. It is due for completion in November 2012.

The community is invited to attend the event, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the site. Members of the PJC Board of Regents, administrators, faculty and staff will be on hand.

The groundbreaking will be followed an open house at all the major buildings on campus to commemorate the full opening of both wings of the South Campus Residence Hall. The first stop for open house visitors is the front foyer of the Administrative Building, beginning at 5 p.m. The campus tour runs until 7 p.m.

PJC President Dr. Pam Anglin says the college will have architectural renderings of the new Science and Math Building on display as well as refreshments.
