Community Thanksgiving Meal Marks 25 Years

This Thanksgiving will mark 25 years that the First United Methodist Church and other community members have provided a lunch for people in Delta County and surrounding areas.

The event began when a few church members decided that people that lived alone and those with limited resources needed to have the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving with a hot meal and good fellowship.  Since that time 25 years ago, the meal has opened its doors to anyone who would like to come.

The organizers will be meeting again on Nov. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cooper.  All volunteers are welcome.

On Thanksgiving Day, November 24, between the hours of 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a complete Thanksgiving meal will be served in the fellowship hall of the church in Cooper.  There will also be take-out meals available and delivery offered.

For reservations for home deliveries, make a donation, or inquire about this event, please call Sue Cregg at 903-395-4263 between the hours of 9 a.m. -12:30 Monday through Thursday.
