Como-Pickton superintendent arrested, set to resign

By Kevin Jefferies

Como-Pickton – The investigation continues into the activities of the now-suspended Como-Pickton ISD Superintendent. Bryan Neal was suspended earlier this month after allegations he had misused school funds and property. After a preliminary investigation, Neal was arrested last week on three felony allegations-forgery and two fraud charges. The forgery charge stems from an incident where Neal allegedly forged another administrator's signature on a check made out to Neal for close to $2,000. The fraud charges involve the purchase of a tractor and an all-terrain vehicle with district funds, totaling more $30,000 vehicles that Neal allegedly kept for himself.
Hopkins County Investigators say more charges are possible in the case. Neal is expected to formally turn in his resignation within the next week.
