GREENVILLE - A trial date has not been set in the nearly 3-year-old lawsuit concerning the Hunt Count Criminal Justice Center. But a hearing is set for next month.
Attorneys for Baird, Hampton & Brown, Inc. have filed a general denial of the allegations and claim the lawsuit filed against them was made too late.
Up to $30 million in damages are sought by prosecutors with Hunt County, who claim the engineers and architects failed to adhere to warnings the facility was being constructed on unstable soil. Since shortly after it opened, officials say the building has experienced numerous cracks in the walls and other damage.
