Confirmed: Construction worker OK after fall

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – The worker who fell more than 25 feet at a construction site Wednesday on the Texas A&M University-Commerce campus is out of the hospital.

The university Friday confirmed the man checked himself out of Parkland Hospital in Dallas at around 5:00 p.m. the day of the accident.

The Hispanic male had been transported by air ambulance to the hospital following Wednesday's incident.

According to Project Manager Jim Patton, the worker walked out of the hospital under his own power when he was released and went home. Still unclear are the extent of the man's injuries, which were reportedly limited to the eye and head.

He was allegedly standing on a scaffold when it collapsed, falling at least 25 feet to the ground.
