Construction upcoming for new Greenville facilities

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A couple of large new facilities in Greenville could soon be another step closer. The Planning and Zoning Commission tonight intends to consider approving final plats for both a local hotel and skilled nursing facility.

The Commission gave conditional approval in February for a preliminary plat for the La Quinta Inn Addition. The Greenville City Council later approved a change in zoning for the addition, which is one of three lots targeted for development behind the Mitsubishi auto dealership and United Rentals.

In March, the Commission approved a preliminary plat for one of two lots in the Browning Addition.

Office zoning has been approved for the five acre tract, where developers want to build the Legend Oaks at Greenville, a 127-bed facility which would replace the existing Greencrest Manor.
