Cooler weather, rain coming midweek

If high temperatures in the 80s sound good to you, then the forecast for Wednesday is welcome news.

The National Weather Service predicts that a break from high temperatures will come to Northeast Texas this week. And, possibly, some rain.

Afternoon high temperatures are expected to be in the mid-80s on Wednesday. High temperatures are expected to creep back into the upper 80s on Thursday and Friday, with weekend highs expected in the low 90s.

Current forecasts give a 50 percent chance for showers or thunderstorms beginning Tuesday night and continuing through Wednesday.

Highest rainfall totals in Northeast Texas are expected in the northern and eastern parts of the region. The area around New Boston and De Kalb could receive as much as three inches of rain, but the eastern suburbs of Dallas are forecast to receive closer to an inch.
