Greenville – A former employee with the Hunt County Juvenile Detention Center has been charged with sexual assault of a child.
28-year-old Shane Craig Bennett, of Cooper, is facing a total of 12 counts. He was arrested Tuesday and was last reported in the Delta County Jail on $600,000 bond. Details of the charges were not immediately released.
Bennett had worked as a supervision officer in the Juvenile Detention Center. His employment in Hunt County was terminated after officials learned of his arrest.
