Cuthand – A Cooper man has been arrested in connection with a shooting death near Clarksville. 43-year-old Jerry Lawrence Green was taken into custody for the shooting death of 40-year-old Brian Ferrall Richards of Dallas. The Red River County Sheriff's office believes the incident stemmed from an altercation between the two men earlier in the day of the shooting.
The shooting occurred at a residence in Cuthand, about 10 miles south of Clarksville. One of the men was an ex-boyfriend of female at the residence, and one was the current boyfriend, according to the sheriff's department. The victim died of a single .22 caliber shot to the chest.
