Cooper May Seek Agriculture Dept. Grant; Plans Moving Ahead For Mural

Cooper Review
Cooper Review

Cooper Mayor Scott Stegall discusses the requirements for a $350,000 Texas Department of Agriculture grant the city may seek.  The grant is for some sort of new development, and the city is welcoming ideas for what that might be.  The city would have to match 5 percent of the grant, or about $17,500.  And Diane Stegall, the chairman of the Delta County Economic Development Corporation, says the organization is going forward with plans for a new mural in downtown Cooper telling the story of Cooper and Delta County.  Cooper Review editor Cindy Roller also appears on this edition of the Blacklands Cafe.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
