Cooper mother of ten loses home to fire

By Kevin Jefferies

Cooper – A fund has been set up for a Cooper mother of ten children whose home was destroyed by fire Saturday. Marilyn Nichols is a single mother that has adopted many children over the years and had ten living at the home in Cooper. The youngest, a 2-month-old, was killed in the fire and a four-year-old was taken by Careflight to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with burns.

The Marilyn Nichols Fund has been set up at First National Bank in Cooper in wake of the tragedy. Donations may also be made through the Cooper Church of Christ.
