Coppell man drowns near Idabel

Idabel, OK – A Coppell man has drowned while fishing in a southeast Oklahoma lake. Authorities said 49 year old Robert Mesecke was pronounced dead on arrival at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Mesecke was fishing in one foot of water in the Mount Fork River when he slipped on rocks and was swept 75 feet downstream. Friends in a canoe retrieved Mesecke retrieved him from 10 feet of water and an ambulance transported him to the hospital.
