SULPHUR SPRINGS (ketr) - Seven positions will be eliminated and 11 will be affected overall. County Judge Chris Brown says five positions will be personally affected but some may be absorbed through attrition.
One of the positions being eliminated may involve a full-time employee becoming part-time. There is one full-time job available for four current employees, the remaining who whom will have a chance to fill three opening dispatch positions. Among the jobs affected is a clerk position in the justice of the peace offices.
The new fiscal year for Hopkins County begins October 1.
