County roads closed due to high water

By Scott Harvey

– Water covering roadways throughout the region could pose a problem for motorists today.

The Texas Department of Transportation is reporting FM 3211 in Hunt County will be closed this morning for a couple of miles. Motorists traveling along FM 1565 near the Kaufman County line, plus sections of FM36 are also advised to find an alternate route.

Culverts washed out by heavy rainfall have forced the closure of four Hopkins County roads. The worst problems are on County Road 2308, also called Hog Farm Road, which runs off College Street in Sulphur Springs. Officials hope to have the problems fixed within a few days. County Roads 2315, 2316 and 2324 are also closed.
