Ector – A suspected murder-suicide is under investigation in Fannin County after a husband and his wife are found dead.
According to the Fannin County Sheriff's Office, David Dwayne Shrum shot and killed Holly Ann Shrum, then shot and killed himself. The incident occurred Tuesday evening about one mile south of Ector.
Officials say the victims appeared to have been shot with a high-powered rifle, recovered at the scene.
Fannin County Sheriff Donnie Foster tells KXII-TV, "Evidence at the scene indicated that it was probably going to be a homicide and suicide."
Toxicology reports on both bodies have been ordered. David Shrum was reportedly having a hard time coping with his upcoming divorce from Holly.
The couple has a three-year-old son, who was not home at the time. He's now staying with relatives.
