Crews again prepare for snowfall in region

By Scott Harvey

– With the threat of another 3-5 inches of snow to hit Northeast Texas overnight and tomorrow, crews are preparing the roadways for safe travel.

The Texas Department of Transportation has been busy over the last couple weeks, distributing de-icing materials and sand on roadways, bridges and overpasses.

Employees with TxDot's Paris District Office, which covers nine area counties, are being deployed and supervisors will continually monitor the weather and road conditions. Road conditions are always available through www.txdot.gov.

Last week, schools were forced to cancel, in most cases, three or four school days out of the week due to snow and ice accumulation.

Stay with KETR for all the latest in severe weather coverage, including any potential school and business cancellations throughout the region.
