Crews to widen portion of road in North Greenville

Bing maps

HUNT COUNTY - Work begins Monday on a more than $750,000 project along FM 499 in Hunt County.

The intent of this project is to rehabilitate the existing roadway and widen to 26 ft.  This work will consist lime treating subgrade, reworking and cement treating existing base, adding new flexible base and two course surface treatment.  The project runs from FM 118 to the IH 30 North Frontage Road and is expected to be complete by mid-July.

According to TxDot, the project will not require any additional right of way and all trees at and within State right of way will be preserved.  There will be some trimming of trees required to accommodate construction operations.  The scope of the project does not include improvements to drainage.  No driveway pipes are proposed to be replaced.

The limits of construction operations will extend to the flow line of the existing parallel drainage ditch along FM 499 but should not get into the back slopes.  Impacts to the local community will be minimal.

The traveling public is requested to observe signs and flaggers and to be aware of lane closures.
