Alice Walton, daughter of Wal Mart magnate Sam Walton, noticed a distinct lack of art and culture around her family's hometown of Bentonville, Arkansas. She decided to change that by founding a world-class art museum in The Natural State.
Opened in 2011, the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art offers free public access to works by Norman Rockwell, Charles Wilson Pearle, plus featured works from other museums.
