Dallas man charged with falsely impersonating lawyer

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – A Dallas man is alleged to have posed as a lawyer in more than 20 Texas courtrooms, including ones in Hunt and Collin counties.

42-year-old Jeffrey Scott Partlow is currently serving a contempt of court jail sentence after appearing intoxicated in the Hunt County Court at Law #1 in October, as he attempted to represent a client in a misdemeanor case.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on Partlow's residence and an initial investigation found he may have represented himself as an attorney in numerous courts.

To date, Partlow has only been charged with one count of falsely holding oneself out as a lawyer, a third degree felony.

Calls to the other agencies he allegedly was involved with have either been made or in the process of being made. Anyone believing they may be affected by this case or if you have other related questions may contact North Texas Legal Aide at 1-888-529-5277.
