Darin Fayne Indicted in 2011 Drug Plane Case

heraldbanner.com

GREENVILLE - An indictment for drug possession was issued Friday against Darin Fayne, the California man who allegedly dumped bags of marijuana across the county while flying over North Texas two years ago.

The status of a second charge, alleging Fayne attacked federal officers during the same incident was not clear. He’s currently free on bond.

Six duffel bags containing hydroponic marijuana and valued at $1.5 million were recovered across Hunt County following the July 2011 incident.

The aircraft eventually ran out of gas, landing near the Caddo Mills Airport. Fayne was arrested about two weeks later near his California home.
