Darron Harris New Assistant Director of the Mesquite Metroplex Center

COMMERCE—Darron Harris, alumnae of Texas A&M University-Commerce, recently accepted the position of assistant director of the A&M-Commerce Mesquite Metroplex Center.

Harris received his bachelor of science degree in technology management from A&M-Commerce in December 2011. During his time at the university, he worked part-time in various departments on campus in addition to holding several student leadership positions. “The assistant director position brings great responsibility, including ensuring the technology at the Metroplex Center campus is working and functioning properly,” said Russell Blanchett, Metroplex Center director. “The position is managerial and needs to have a person that is not only knowledgeable about technology and university procedure, but also integrity and character. Within moments of meeting Mr. Harris, I could see the integrity and pride that will serve the Metroplex Center well.” Blanchett considers Harris’ experience as an asset to A&M-Commerce and anticipates it will help him better understand the struggles students face in registering for classes, paying tuition and finding financial aid. “Mr. Harris works very well with our faculty and helps students with various technology issues,” Blanchett said. “He helps us keep the students’ perspective in mind as we increase the services we offer. The attitude he brings to the position will help the Metroplex Center grow and prosper.” For more information about Darron Harris or the Mesquite Metroplex Center, click here.
