Dean of Arts and Sciences search making progress

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – The search committee for the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University-Commerce are moving forward.

In an email this week, committee members are said to be on schedule with the search, presently making calls to listed references from a pool of applicants they deem qualified. The next step is for the committee to meet and determine the candidates that will be invited to a neutral site interview, then eventually be invited by the President for campus interviews within the next couple of months.

The same process is currently underway in the search for the position of Vice-President for Institution Advancement, where final candidates are anticipated to be on campus for interviews the final week of February.

The University is also examining applicants for the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Last week, KETR informed you that committee members had narrowed its search to 18. The information was presented the same day Dr. Mary Hendrix was appointed Vice President for Student Access and Success.
